not a real problem
tumblr should not have gotten rid of their filtering feature. if i’m looking for audio only, i should not have to look through pages of bullshit inspirational quotes and reblogged photos from fuckyeahskinnyho or whatever to find one song.

This is exactly what I was referring to in my 140 conference article.  Twitter isn’t going to save the world because the world is not Twitter. hortenseg: “People are already divided and we can’t expect technology to automatically integrate them and create cultural harmony,” Ms. Boyd admitted. But “you need to understand that these divisions exist.” If politicians are using Facebook and...

Just watched a smirnoff ice commercial that wants me to believe very hot people drink smirnoff ice and that it inspires them to build water slides and not pass out in some single dorm room bed after having an awkward hook up with someone, which is what smirnoff ice actually leads to. That and tears. And vomit. And headaches. I’m just really offended by it.

than when I wince when my cousin texts me in broken myspace texting. But UGH, she has a blackberry with a real keyboard. I have gigantic fingers and an iPhone with a touch keyboard and type almost perfectly on it. I DON’T UNDERSTAND.

I am having a hard time relating to everyone’s heart felt missives over Michael Jackson’s death today. But that’s okay, I don’t have to relate to everything. I hope everyone is geting through this okay.

It's really come to this, Plus-sized furniture  →
That was my first impression, too, not that OMG EVERYONE IS GETTING SO FAT WE NEED THIS, but how comfortable it would be for people of all sizes. Like, no one thinks of first class airline seats as being just for fat people, you know? meaverly: Big towels—i.e., “oversized bath sheets”—aren’t new inventions for giant people. I have towels that measure 35”x66” now and I am not an elephantine...

Case in point: 1. Videogum JUST posted dina manzo’s first ever reality show that she did on her wedding. 2. I posted it on April 8. reality tv blogging woes
A few of the commenters on BravoFan think that because there is simply MORE gossip on Danielle to report than there is on the Manzo sisters that I am somehow being paid off by the Manzo family. Which you know, is stupid. Before, some of the other commenters thought that I was someone known as “Pizza Girl” who is this kind of mythic figure in the Real Housewives canon. On the first...

About "The Internet"
All of this, all of this. barthel: Following a conversation with Rachel and Janine yesterday about Christopher Weingarten’s speech, and with Rachel about the Iran elections and Twitter, I have been thinking about why Tumblr pisses me off so much lately.  (You can compare that statement to my number of posts recently and make a reasonable conclusion along the lines of “if you can’t say anything...

I mostly agree with what Emily is saying here as I can and do write for free (but when it’s a project I really like and/or friends are involved), but it’s very, very easy to say all of this when you have a book deal and are living off your advance. Let’s put it into some perspective here. oomb: An essay by Benjamin Kunkel entitled ‘Lingering’ appeared  in the most recent...

I love Atlanta. I usually don’t like places that are not in California or New York City, so take note, this is a good thing. The sprawl is unfuckingreal, but still: I like it. Eventually, I will have to come to some place like this, because I truly can’t stand the pretension of NYC or San Francisco. Anyway, today I went to the High Museum of Art and it was great! I judge art purely by...
